The Case for Christ

Today you stand at a cross roads and the choice of direction you take is no less than life and death. So before you make your choice, please allow me a few minutes of your time to explain why it is so important that you make the right decision.

Concerning the mystery of God, the Bible seems to contradict itself. (Actually, there are no contradictions in the Bible.) On the one hand, the Bible says that we are saved by Grace through faith and that we are under grace and NOT under the law of Moses. But the Church has been teaching us that we’re under the Law i.e. the Ten Commandments and Jesus said that unless our righteousness exceeds that of the Pharisees and the Scribes, we will not enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.

You see, the Bible is true, with no contradictions. Just many mysteries. Not only does the Bible reveal that there is God; human history also indicates that there is God.

But there are certain pre-requisites for reading the Bible and all of which are confirmed by Scripture

For example, you must be born again or a believer. You must be diligent and have a desire to know the truth and you must be prayerful.

There are many non biblical historical documents that prove that Jesus did exist. Then we have the Gospels themselves that reveal the miracles and divinity of Jesus, the Sermon on the Mount, the wonderful parables that Jesus taught, and then we have the amazing miracles, signs and wonders that Jesus performed. The admissible evidence is overwhelming.

Then we have the resurrection of Jesus and the many eye witness testimonies’ including Saint Peters sermon 50 days after the crucifixion and resurrection.

Finally, we have the anointing of the Holy Spirit which convicted Saint Paul.

I therefore submit to you that it is NOT a lack of evidence that people turn away from God. It is because the enemy, the Devil has told you a lie.

There are not many ways to heaven! Jesus said “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the father except through me”.

We serve a loving, living and personal God. And He wants to have a personal relationship with you! He wants to show you the wonderful plan that He has for your life. The best days are ahead for those who believe.

I am a living epistle of the transformational power of this life changing relationship with Lord Jesus.

The old me, before I became sanctified through my faith in Jesus, I was a wretched sinner. Not pure evil but pretty close. Bad!

If it were not for the Lord Jesus, I am sure that I would not be here today preaching the Good News of Salvation that is available to all people..

ACTS 26 :24-32

And as he thus spake for himself, Festus said with a loud voice, Paul, thou art beside thyself; much learning doth make thee mad. But he said, I am not mad, most noble Festus; but speak forth the words of truth and soberness. For the King knoweth of these things, before whom also I speak freely: for I am persuaded that none of these things are hidden from him; for this thing was not done in a corner. King Agrippa, believest thou the prophets? I know that thou believest. Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian. And Paul said, I would to God, that not only thou, but also all that hear me this day, were both almost, and altogether such as I am, except these bonds.

And when he had thus spoken, the King rose up, and the governor, and Bernice, and they that sat with them: And when they were gone aside, they talked between themselves, saying, This man doeth nothing worthy of death or of bonds. Then said Agrippa unto Festus, This man might have been set at liberty, if he had not appealed unto Caesar.

Paul Defends his Ministry

11 Corinthians 10:4

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds; Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, and we are ready to punish all disobedience, whenever your obedience is complete. You are looking at things as they are outwardly. If anyone is confident in himself that he is Christ’s, let him consider this again within himself, that just as he is Christ’s, so also are we.

Matthew 6:13 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you.

Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

Ephesians 2:8,9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

John 3: 2,3,4 .this man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, “Rabbi, we know that You have come from God as a teacher; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.” Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born, can he?”

Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God…

Jesus said in Matthew 22: 37 “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind”.

The Choice of Life or Death

Deutronomy 30: 19

I declare to you today that you shall surely perish. You will not prolong your days in the land where you are crossing the Jordan to enter and possess it. “I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants, by loving the LORD your God, by obeying His voice, and by holding fast to Him; for this is your life and the length of your days, that you may live in the land which the LORD swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.”

Heavenly Father, Abba Father, as we make this most important of decisions in our lives I pray that your kingdom come and turn our hearts of stone into flesh. Father send please send your Holy Spirit to help us. We repent of all our sins and reject the evil one. And we turn to Christ Jesus our Lord and saviour. Sweet Holy Spirit come! It is in Lord Jesus’ name we pray. One God, now and always. Amen.
